The best comic ever about a robotic Martin Lawrence flying a jet with Shia Labeouf to destroy a giant meteor. Also the only one.

About Me

My name’s Alex Martel and I’m a very tall, Abe Lincoln bearded bloke from Québec, Canada. As you can obviously tell, I’m a big horror fan. I don’t favor any character, movie or series above another one as I enjoy the genre in general, good movies and bad ones as well, in many cases. There are few things on this world with the same entertainment value as a horrible, HORRIBLE horror flick. Being an avid internet user, I noticed there seemed to be a lack of horror comics on the web. Sure, you will find all those small strips that are all about raging fanboyism (and fangirlsm) focused on a single character, but very few that actually criticizes the whole genre as much it celebrates it. So being a graphic artist with the heart of a comic artist (as far as talent goes, I’m gonna keep trying to improve), I decided to set a goal for myself and do just that: a funny horror comic strip that reflects what is happening in the vast and ever growing world of horror.

So The Slashers were born out of this idea, starring “Jay” and “Fred”. Why these characters? Not because they were in the best movies, or because I like them so much, but because they were the most iconic horror figures at (arguably, as horror as been there for a long time) the height of the genre’s popularity, so there couldn’t be a better choice. They’re stuck between the ole’ classics of the 30s and 40s and the recent popular movies, and the only recognition they get is subpar remakes to ensure no one remembers their actual legacy. Even if that legacy is filled with tons of atrocious sequels.

And aside from that, I’m a huge comics, cartoons, video games, wrestling and Red Bull fan, among other things, so don’t be surprised to see any or all of these things eventually merged together in some fashion.
